Forest Rest Houses in Jim Corbett

Stay inside the park, close to the wild and away from the crowds — in basic but characterful Forest Department accommodation in some of Corbett's most beautiful settings.

Forest Rest Houses (FRHs) are owned and managed by the Forest Department. Booking is by advance reservation only, and demand is high. Corbett Valley helps you understand the differences, check availability and arrange your stay through the proper channels.

Forest rest houses are allotted only by the Forest Department via its official portal. We assist with planning & booking and cannot guarantee any particular rest house or date.

Dhikala FRH

Dhikala FRH

The largest and most in-demand rest house in the park, set deep inside the Dhikala zone overlooking grasslands and the Ramganga reservoir. The classic "stay inside Corbett" experience, with the best access to early-morning and late-evening safaris.

Location: Core of Dhikala zone, farthest from Dhangarhi Gate
Rooms: Double rooms + dormitory beds · Canteen (veg)
Best for: First-time Dhikala visitors who want the full core-zone experience
Gairal FRH

Gairal FRH

Set on the banks of the Ramganga river, Gairal is a beautiful riverside rest house and the second zone rest house with a canteen. Quieter than Dhikala, it's loved for its setting and calm.

Location: Riverside, off the Dhangarhi–Dhikala road · Canteen (veg)
Best for: Travellers who want a peaceful, riverside stay
Sarpduli FRH

Sarpduli FRH

A small, cosy rest house on the river edge, deeper into the zone. With just a few rooms and a simple canteen, it's intimate and tranquil — ideal for those who want quiet and closeness to nature.

Location: River edge, within Dhikala zone
Best for: Couples and small groups wanting solitude
Sultan FRH

Sultan FRH

The first rest house you reach on the drive from Dhangarhi Gate towards Dhikala, named after the seasonal Sultan stream. Small, solar-powered, with no canteen — guests bring provisions to be cooked. Good for deer and birdlife in a dense-forest setting.

Location: Closest to Dhangarhi Gate · No canteen (bring provisions)
Best for: Small groups comfortable with very basic, off-grid stays
Bijrani FRH

Bijrani FRH

Located in the Bijrani zone, this forest lodge offers a small number of rooms and a dormitory, giving you a stay close to the Bijrani gate and easy access to that zone's safaris. A good alternative to Dhikala nearer Ramnagar.

Location: Bijrani zone
Best for: Travellers wanting a forest stay with convenient access
